Writer and podcast host Coley Gallagher has written for Motherwell, The Chicago Tribune, Hypertext Magazine, Mutha Magazine, and GMR. She’s reported about women’s soccer for US Soccer.com and the site Playing for 90.

Born in New York, Gallagher spent her youth in and around Orlando, Florida. After college, she landed subsistence grant and copy writing jobs for housing and community health nonprofits in Washington, DC and New York City. In 2000, Gallagher visited Chicago, bought a warm coat and stayed. When her kids were little, she earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the low-residency program at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. During the Covid-19 pandemic, she turned her whole family against winter.

Today Gallagher resides on Florida’s Atlantic coast. She is currently at work on a memoir.
