Writer Coley Gallagher has written for Motherwell, The Chicago Tribune, Hypertext Magazine, Mutha Magazine, GMR, and Playing For 90. She’s reported about women’s soccer for US Soccer.com and the site Playing for 90.
Born in New York, Coley spent her youth in and around Orlando, Florida. After college, she landed subsistence grant and copy writing jobs for nonprofits in Washington, DC and New York City. In 2000, she visited Chicago, bought a warm coat and stayed. When her kids were little, Coley earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the low-residency program at the University of Nebraska, Omaha.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Coley turned her whole family against winter. She resides on Florida’s Atlantic coast. She recently finished a memoir.
